Happy birthday Jordana!!

Today is Jordana's 2nd birthday. I can't believe that it's been 2 years since we entered this new and exciting phase of our lives. Randy made her chocolate chip waffles for breakfast. Then Jordana went to school where she had gymnastics and shared Elmo and Cookie monster cupcakes with her classmates. Then we went out to dinner at Berry Hill, where Jordana experienced Jello for the first time. She ate it off a fork and sucked it through a straw. She looked up at me and said "Yummy". After dinner, we had cake and presents at home. There are more pix to be seen at
The little angel is sleeping peacefully, storing her energy for her party on Saturday!!

long hours at work...

The 10 day stretch is never fun. 6 down, 4 to go. We also have a staff meeting tomorrow night. Fun times.....not. We are still struggling at work and it didn't help that the registers crashed last night. DTR could not get them back up and had to replace the entire server. 6 hours of data were lost. I spent tonight price modifying 200 prescriptions to sold status. Talk about unnecessary stress.
Jordana is having her Daddy weekend. They went to the mall to look at an entertainment center for our big screen. We went back tonight....decided we didn't like it. Back to square one.
Jordana will be 2 on Wednesday. I can't believe how quickly these past 2 years have gone by. I love this stage. All of the talking, walking, climbing and discovery. The way she finds joy in everything. Her love of music and the outdoors. The only setback she has is the fear of loud noises. I know it is only a matter of time before her imagination starts to run wild and new fears set in. I'm not sure if I am ready to chase monsters out of the closet or to see her cry when she meets a favorite character in real life (Santa was a disaster).
Time to plan for the birthday party on Saturday. We are going to have a ton of kids and grownups at our house. Good thing we have a cool jungle gym in the backyard. Hope the weather is great!!!

Life is good with friends

Just checked on Jordana. Could she have any more friends with her in her crib? Elmo, No-No and her pillow. Life is good.

It was inevitable....

...one of my customers died from these damn pain clinics. The son of a very good customer was found dead in his bedroom in Dec. We just found out about it. The boy had an underlying medical condition and should never had been on these drugs. He got the meds from another pharmacy. If the Dr had taken a complete medical history, instead of just the $100 fee, he never would have dispensed these meds. Something has to be done. This young boy's life was ended by some money hungry md. I cried with my customer and wanted to go bash the md's face in. I only hope the DEA does something fast before more people die. To my pharmacist friends, beware. I only hope your customers are safe.

Creating Keepsakes Convention

I had another "scrapbooking" themed weekend. This time it was a convention complete with shopping and classes. The CKC Houston convention seemed like it was thrown together quickly. There was only about 50 vendors but a ton of classes. I took 6 total over 3 days. These layouts are from a Heidi Grace class. The spring layout is not quite done. I will post it when it is. Most of my classes were awesome. I learned something new in all of them. Shopping was fun (isn't it always?) and I got some great discounts and some cool stuff not found anywhere else. Project for the week? Clean out my scraproom. I will be selling some of my stuff on eBay. More layouts to come!!

My life...in one device!!!

I decided I was tired of having a phone and a Palm Pilot. Time for a Smartphone!! Welcome Palm Centro!! Great deal, great phone. I had some issues in the beginning, there were applications on my Zire that were not compatable with the Centro and it crashed the phone. After many long hours on the phone with Punjab in India, we got it worked out. I now have all my contacts, calendars and email in one device! Totally cool. And with my pink snakeskin case (ebay!!), I am ready to go!!! It took a while, but I am catching up with technology!!

Been a busy girl...

2008 is turning out to be super busy!! It's only the 15th and I am 2 weeks behind on my blog!! New Years was quiet, spent with our friends and neighbors. Jordana has developed fear of loud noises, including firecrackers. She did not enjoy them at all, burying her head in my neck. I spent the first 2 weeks of the new year at work suffering immensly. Rude customers, having to explain insurance deductibles over and over, super high volume at my original budget, and employees under the weather. My staff has been amazing. Not a one has called in sick yet. These women amaze me every day. I love each and every one of them, even the girl who has only been with us 2 months! She has been a great find!!
Last weekend, my friend Katrina and I went to a Creative Memories retreat in Brenham and got 36 pages done!!. Katrina got 26!! Nice way to start the year!! I will be posting them soon. I just have a few finishing touches to do!! This weekend is the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Houston. I have signed up for a few classes, but it will be mostly about the shopping for me!!
Jordana is enjoying her Christmas and Hanukkah presents. This pix is her in her new tiara, earrings and bracelets. The heart on the tiara flashes when it is pressed. Whenever it stops Jordana says "Uh-Oh, What happened?" She is talking so much! When she wants to go down the slide on her new rainbow play system, or at the park with Grandma Shelli, she says "Hold my hand!" Everyday she surprises me with the things she has learned.
Congrats to Kelly and Ryan on the good news. Check out her blog to see!!
